Board of Directors
Dave
Ehlers
Dave is the Delivery Manager for
the US for IBM WebSphere Education. He is a Senior Certified
Education Specialist for IBM teaching advanced courses on system
integration. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from University of
Southern California, is a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) and
former Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT). He recently retired from the USAFR
after serving 21 years in the military as a pilot, instructor, Chief of Flight
Safety, and Chief of Safety. Dave and his wife Jennifer have two children, Nate
and Tori.
Kelly
Ellerbrake
Kelly, a native of Denver, Colorado
relocated to the O'Fallon area in 1992. She graduated from the University of
Illinois with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management.
She is a local Re/Max Realtor and has helped more than 700 families move to and
from the Scott Air Force Base area and for the past 10 years she has served on
the Realtor Association of Southwestern Illinois Professional Standards Board.
As a daughter of a retired Air Force Colonel, she has had the opportunity to
experience many different school environments, curriculum, and teaching
strategies around the nation. She is active in many charitable organizations
and her church. She enjoys camping, fishing, hiking and gardening with her
husband, Steve and four children Trevor, Morgan, Jake and Reid.
Stephen
Ellerbrake
Steve has called O'Fallon his home
for 35 years. He attended Knox College and graduated from Saint Louis
University with a degree in International Business Management. He owns
Ellerbrake Construction, a custom homebuilding company in O'Fallon that has
been in operation since 1992. He is married to Kelly and has four children;
Trevor, Morgan, Jake, and Reid and one grandson, Draven. Steve is active in his
church and the O'Fallon Rotary Club. He enjoys camping and adventure traveling.
Virginia
Muzquiz
Virginia holds degrees from
Dartmouth College, Middlebury College and Washington University. She taught
high school Spanish at Deerfield Academy from 1987-1992 and then worked as a
teaching associate at Washington University while completing her PhD. As the
owner of Aztec International, Virginia provided translation and tutoring
services to individuals and corporations. When she is not at Sylvan, Virginia
enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and participating in fitness
activities.
Tami
S. Spellman
Tami has lived in and around the
O'Fallon area for over 30 years. She earned her undergraduate degree in
Computer Information Systems from McKendree College, Master's degree in
Computer Resources and Information Management from Webster University, and is a
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). She is a Network
Security Engineer with a Department of Defense contractor located at Scott AFB.
Tami is married with two children, Haley and Garrett and is active in her
church and enjoys competitive running.
Tena
Swart
Tena is a Contract Manager for
Bechtel Power. She graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of
Science degree in Industrial Distribution with a minor in Procurement. Tena
moved to the O’Fallon area in 2008 to work at the Prairie State Energy Campus
overseeing the structural steel erection for a 1,600 MW power plant. She is
married to Bill Peate and they have one son, Brent Peate. Tena enjoys
gardening, cooking, and traveling.
Lori
Tillock
Lori has lived in Shiloh since
2004, when she relocated here from Chicago with her family. She is a Registered
Dietitian and runs her own consulting business, Culinary Communications, Inc.,
which provides food writing, recipe editing, and website design & content
management services. Lori earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of
Illinois at Urbana and her Masters of Business Administration in Marketing from
DePaul University. Lori and her husband Brad have two children, Alex and Kate.
Lori is active in her church and community, and she enjoys gardening and
cooking.
Ryan
Welter
Ryan grew up in the O’Fallon area.
His college years were spent at McKendree (College) University where he earned
his BA in history with secondary education certification. After college, he
spent the next four years living in Virginia and Colorado where he worked as a
middle school and high school science teacher. In 2004, he returned to the area
to be near family and attend graduate school. He enrolled at Southern Illinois
University Edwardsville (SIUE) where he completed the Masters of Public
Administration (MPA) program with an emphasis in non-profit management and
administration. He currently resides in Glen Carbon with his wife, Michelle,
who works for SIUE.
